A few words, a keepsake for years: writing a dedication

You do not need to write much. A shared memory, a favourite quality and a little wish can say it all.

Begin with a greeting your child knows and loves. Use a family nickname or simply their name. A dedication does not need to be formal. It should sound like you.

Choose one thing you love about them: their curiosity, their laughter or the way they care for others. A sentence with a small example feels more personal than a list of compliments.

Finish with a wish: to keep asking, dreaming, creating or finding friends. Add your name and the occasion, so years later they will remember who chose this book with love.
